The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. Oprah Winfrey
Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and celebrate the journey! Barbara Hoffman
We should seek reasons to celebrate good results, victories, accomplishments, even small steps forward. We should be thankful and appreciate our many blessings, both small and large. Recognizing the good things in our life is really good for us and is mentally enriching, inspiring, and moves us forward.
Too much time and effort is spent being depressed, disappointed, and frustrated. We spend too much time whining and crying ‘why me’? Negative and pessimistic thoughts reinforce negatives and bring about more negatives. Positives and constructive thoughts reinforce positive results and bring about more positives.
A celebration is taking the time to recognize something worthwhile. It can be a great life-changing event or something seemingly small and trivial. It is important to recognize the significance and reflect on its importance. This reinforces that the efforts and especially the sacrifices made were worthwhile. Celebrating the event gives special honor and expresses gratitude for the good results that have happened.
Every time we succeed, we gain experience, understanding and wisdom on how to succeed again and again. Success has been described as a journey rather than a destination. A ‘success mindset’ is a very desirable thought process that we should seek to acquire as we journey forward. Every time we find reason to celebrate a victory we are solidifying and reinforcing the choices we have made, the changes, the steps taken. All this helps and aids us in our effort to live up to our potential. It reinforces our ‘success mindset.’
Something as small and trivial as saying ‘good morning’ to a stranger, or staying ‘calm and collected’ when normally we would lose our temper, can be a significant victory. It should be recognized and celebrated. If we have been unable to do such things in the past, we have made a significant step forward. Celebrating the victory reinforces the accomplishment. This will help us to take more positive steps forward. Subconsciously, we are setting the bar higher as we take these steps forward. Maybe we can express to the next stranger ‘good morning’ and then ‘have a nice day’ or do something kind for a person who irritated us. Each victory creates more and more momentum for continued growth and success. We are what we do and what we think about. Be aware of these opportunities for success. Take the steps forward. Find reasons to celebrate. Keep going forward.
Challenge: Do you see the benefits of finding reasons to celebrate your victories and accomplishments? Each time you do so you are reinforcing the positive steps taken. Personal growth and development is something that requires diligence and perseverance. It is easier to be indifferent and complacent. If you seek to become a better you, look for opportunities to grow. Make the right choices, experience the victories and celebrate the results.
Wisdom: Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living! Amanda Bradley
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:37
Life has its good, as well as its tough moments. Trials and tribulations will be there to test us and we journey through life. Sometimes, it is very hard to keep our heads up and spirits high. For those who have God in their lives, there is the assurance and faith that comes from knowing that God is in control. We can have reason to celebrate knowing that God will prevail. There really is no such thing as failure when we have God in our lives.
Prayer: Help me to let go and let you make me into the person you designed me to be.
