Remember there are no mistakes, only lessons. Love yourself, trust your choices, and everything is possible. Cherie-Carter Scott
As humans, we are supposed to experience, then learn, and then get better at things we do. Those who practice certain principles are more likely to live life at higher levels than those who do not learn or fail to remember to live by certain truths and truisms. Common sense, learning from mistakes, hard knocks, sinking or swimming; are but a few of the ways we learn as we go. Equipped with our basic intelligence, we should always be learning and getting better on the job as we take on the struggles and challenges of day to day living.
Those who dare to get their feet wet; keep their fears minimized, take on a few risks and venture outside of their comfort zones; are more likely to live life on a higher plane than those who do not. Those who are creative, imaginative; wonder “why”, dream and are not afraid to ask “what if”, are more likely to accomplish more than those who accept things as they are. Those who lean toward optimism, learn patience, develop persistence, practice self-discipline and are able to motivate themselves; are more likely to get more and do more.
Those who build foundations of values and principles have an inner compass guiding their sense of direction. Those accepting personal responsibility and accountability for their lives are more likely to do grow and develop consistently and progressively. Those “fessing up when they mess up” and avoid blaming others are more likely to learn from mistakes, understand life’s lessons and grow in the process. Forgiving and forgetting, then moving on, is important for continuing to move forward and not bogged down living in the past.
Learning to overcome selfishness, desiring to make a difference and dong things for others are further indications of successfully learning to live life at an advanced level. Overcoming “what is it for me” is another indication of those who are growing and developing their greater potentials. All these things directly relate to developing an attitude and commitment to personal growth and development. Developing a progressive attitude toward life opens the door to the added benefits of increased joy and happiness. These things are definitely worth remembering and are very important keys to experiencing what would be considered successful living. If we want to live at a higher level, these are some decisions we need to be made and steps we must choose.
Challenge: Choices and decisions are always presenting themselves to you. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. You have the capability of taking your life in whatever direction you choose. The remaining chapters of your life are not written. The pages are blank. The empty pages will be filled by the experiences, thoughts, things you do, your mistakes, lessons learned, the differences you make, and your successes and victories.
Wisdom: Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. William James
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
We live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
Much of our fear comes from a lack of faith. Our lack of faith keeps us from living life with power and enthusiasm. Many of us live life at a very low level compared to what we could be doing. Many of us are underperforming and underachieving because we are extremely spiritually mal-nourished. We lack energy, motivation, focus, discipline and other key factors. If we want to do better, God is willing and ready to help us.
Prayer: Help me to let go and let you empower me. Show me how to live life better than I have been so far.
