If you think you can win, you can. Faith is necessary to victory. William Hazlitt
We often try to take on too much too quickly. It is easy to fall prey to thinking we need to hit home runs when all we really need to do is to hit singles. We can find ourselves trying to solve a puzzle all at one time rather than solving it in small pieces. By focusing on one small piece or small step, we come closer to insuring steady progress. It is more important to finish the task by taking small micro-steps than it is to fail or fall short by trying to do too much all at once. We may never get there if we do not think in term of small victories.
There are many things we can accomplish in life if we adopt the mindset of breaking things down into very small goals, elements or steps. In some respects the smaller the better. If the tasks or components become so small and minimally demanding, we can almost do them with our eyes closed. This is very powerful. There are many goals, dreams, or achievements out there waiting for us, if we proceed slowly, steady and continuously; our success is all but guaranteed. If we break them down into small steps and faithfully continue doing one at a time without fail and with certainty, we will achieve victories. Nature has many such examples: ants building an ant hill, a wren building a nest or beavers damming a stream.
Traits such as resilience, perseverance persistence and self-discipline are keys to achieving almost anything we can set our eyes on and are dedicated to achieving. These fundamental traits coupled with small victory management will insure steady progress toward achieving goals and dreams. Small steps result in small victories. Small victories line up or pile upon each other to comprise big victories. As simple as it sounds, it is that simple.
Successes are out there. We can have them if we truly want them. We can become the person we want to be, achieve the goals we want to achieve, and have the life we want to have. These things are there if we will get there one small victory at a time. The adage, “by the inch it is a cinch”, is the magic solution. There are many small victories in front of and all around us. They are like Easter eggs waiting to be picked up by us.
Challenge: You are already experienced at successfully completing some goals and tasks through persistence and perseverance combined with taking small progressive steps. Serious commitment and dedication will usually result in victory; some quickly, others perhaps taking years to finish. If you will combine these traits with focusing on the concept of small victories; taking one small step at a time, there are many more victories waiting for you.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Psalm 128:2
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
The Bible tells us we have not because we do not ask. There are many things we do not have because we do not believe. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The Bible is full of teachings and promises that will enrich our lives and bring us not only happiness and joy but prosperity as well. We have to open our eyes, ears, hearts and minds and allow God to help show us the way to success. He did not bring us into this world to be failures.
Prayer: Help me to see, then to believe and then to act. Help me to become that which I am capable of being.
